Behind-the-scene photoshoot with a Danish team

Yesterday, my home was photographed & styled by a Danish team...I was busy working on our new site in the kitchen so I let them get on with it. After 3 photoshoots in the space of a few weeks including my favourite in MILK Decoration, I wasn't sure how different their shots could be from what we had seen before but the stylist was very good and they made some great photos.
The photo on the wall next to the BAU pendant light (photo 2) is one of Mila taken by Francois (who has now a new website here). I will show later on the whole series we did around this gorgeous black tutu - it looks fabulous!

One gorgeous new print and new hair...

It's not very often that I post images of myself (like never!) but yesterday we had a photoshoot + interview in my home for The Scotland on Sunday magazine (which will get featured this weekend) so I went to the 'haircoiffeur' (hairdresser) as Mila says.
Once the photoshoot was over with Debra Hurford Brown, the photographer sent by the newspaper, Francois and I carrying on styling the new BODIE and FOU collection which includes this gorgeous SMALL TALK print I took home and he also took a few portraits of me while the blow-dry was still looking good...

The print is by One Must Dash, a creative label set up by two talented Swedish girls: Anki Josefsson & Anneli Sandström who made a gorgeous collection of prints exclusively available for BODIE and FOU. I hope you'll love this one as much as I do.


Ce n'est pas très souvent que je partage des photos de moi (genre jamais!) mais hier, il y a eu un photoshoot chez moi + interview pour The Scotland on Sunday magazine (l'article va paraitre ce weekend) et donc je suis allée chez le 'haircoiffeur' (coiffeur) comme dit Mila.

Styling from the weekend: Paulistano chair love

I have the chance to have two of these beauties at home, the Whisky Paulistano with the stainless-steel frame and the White Paulistano with the black iron frame. 
It's by far my favourite piece of design. I can't tell you how much I love the lines of this chair.... 
The frame is made of a continuous 17-foot single bended steel bar (shaped under 200 lbs of hydraulic pressure over 24 hours) and then welded in a single spot and it looks simple and beautiful and for something that was designed in 1957 for The Athletic Club of São Paulo, it has not aged at all.
Last week, Francois and I shot several Paulistano chairs including this shot below which was taken in  a beautiful family home in West London but could have well be taken in a home in Paris... don't you think it has a gorgeous French vibe?

{White Styling} from the weekend....

On Sunday, our photographer Francois and I shot the BODIE and FOU White Christmas collection* in a gorgeous family home in West London (big thanks to Greg & Amanda for their wonderful welcome).
Steve went for a bike ride with his friend so I took Mila with us on the shoot and well, now that she is 7, she no longer can be bothered to model for me so all I get now is her feet...but here is a sneak-peek of what's coming...
I'm so in love with everything...
The tealight holders are made of bone china with a matte finish and come with a STAR or HEART design. They are gorgeous and very stylish (£13 each).
I use stars a lot to decorate our home so I'm a huge fan of this beautiful decorative star (only £15) and this little polar bear family (£28 for a set of Papa Bear and Baby bear) is just a-do-rable and will look perfect in a nursery or kids bedroom.
The paper Christmas decorations come in set of 3 and you get a bell, a ball and a tree for only £4 and fo course there is the beautiful Paulistano chair that one of our customers in Australia has bought last week for his wife's Christmas present - How nice is this!?

Dimanche dernier, notre photographe Francois et moi avons photographié la collection "Noel blanc" de BODIE and FOU* dans une très jolie maison de famille dans l'Ouest de Londres (grand merci a Greg & Amanda pour leur accueil).

Steve était parti faire un tour de moto avec un copain donc j'avais emmené Mila avec nous sur le shoot et bon, maintenant qu'elle a 7 ans, elle en a un peu assez de jouer les modèles et tout ce que j'ai pu avoir pour une photo, sont ses pieds mais bon voici quelques photos de la collection...

Forcément vu que c'est moi qui ait tout choisi, j'adore tout...

Les photophores blancs sont en porcelaine blanche avec une finition matte et sont disponibles avec une étoile ou un coeur. Ils sont tres beaux (£13 chacun).

A la maison, j'aime beaucoup utiliser les étoiles pour décorer les pièces et j'adore cette nouvelle étoile décorative (seulement £15) et cette petite famille d'ours polaire (£28 pour un set de Papa Bear et bébé bear) qui est juste a-do-rable et sera parfait pour la chambre de bébé ou d'un bout de chou.

Les décorations de Noel en papier sont un set de 3 dans lequel il y a une boule, une cloche et un arbre pour £4 et bien sure, le toujours aussi beau fauteuil Paulistano qu'un de nos clients en Australie a récemment commandé comme cadeau de Noel pour sa femme - C'est par super gentil ca?!

Sneak peek of the BODIE and FOU AW/12 catalogue

I 'm very excited to share this sneak-peek of our AW BODIE and FOU catalogue* with you today and I really really hope you will love it as much as I do because I can't tell you the amount of work that goes into it!!

Inspired by the success of our Spring/Summer collection, we've added this gorgeous linen duvet cover in mustard which will be just perfect for cosy, winter nights in and also lots of industrial lights including the pipe light which is now available with a matt iron finish and a mini collection of copper lights** which is just sublime.

To make your Xmas shopping shopping easier (I know crazy to even think about Xmas now), we've sourced lots of stylish, unusual and beautiful gifts for all budgets starting with this gorgeous star garland** (as seen on the wall below) and this pretty set of votive candles** which is only £10.

We will also have lots of new things for children such as this exclusive graphic monkey print** which I l know, would sit nicely in our mood board in the lounge, and the Elephant head (see last pic) which I fell in love with as soon as I saw it (also available as polar bear and fox).

The Autumn/Winter catalogue will be on UK doormats around mid-October and most new products available online in September and hopefully on our newly designed website.

Awesome WE read + a little creative project

Hello! I realised this morning that with everything going on, I totally forgot to tell you that our gorgeous, inspiring, awesome Spring Summer 2012 catalogue was now available on issuu. The print version will be mailed to BODIE and FOU customers and those who requested a copy next Friday. Voila! job done and I hope you like it !
I also wanted to share with you these FREE downlodable vintage paper placemats from the Pretty Blog (I love the cutlery one).

I'm off to make a cake for Mila to take to school for her birthday (I'm one week behind) and I have to start planning her Birthday party. This year she doesn't want any theme, so no moustache party like we did for her 6th birthday, and no lovely decoration like we did for her 5th birthday. I cant work out if I'm relieved (because let's face it I'm exhausted..things have been a little bit crazy since the beginning of the year) or a bit disappointed...

Sneak-peek of our SS/2012 catalogue

Here is a sneak-peek of our Spring/Summer catalogue which I think looks even better than our first one (and that one got an Award!).

This time we take you on a summery journey between London and the French Atlantic coast to indulge in beautiful soft bed linens from France, stylish Clare Vivier clutches to go to a party in town or for an evening walk by the beach and as usual inspiring, creative ideas to make your home a happy place.

Styling from the weekend ♥♥♥

And here is our front cover shot of our SS/12 catalogue...
I had this shot in mind about 4 months ago when we finally found the exact type of soft, washed linen Elodie and I wanted to add to our collection. The kind of linen that send you to heaven each time you go to bed, the kind of linen that is soft, inviting and has a timeless appeal, the kind of linen I have at home to create a relax feel.
While I appreciate these bed linens is not for all budgets, personally I'd rather spend money in a few bed linen sets and wash them regularly than having my linen cupboards full of other stuff which does not feel as great as these.
Before we got these linens, I started building my linen collection by buying just the pillow cases in various shades of grey and mixing them with bright white organic cottons. Elodie added hers on her sofa and it looks beautiful, inviting and relaxing.
The rest of the collection will arrive at the end of April, including these beautiful linen scarves that are selling like cupcakes/hot cakes (can't remember how we say it in English).

We have 4 days here in the UK for Easter so I may be back here during the weekend or not but in any case, have a wonderful, relaxing weekend

Life with Mila...at breakfast

Yesterday morning, Steve got up at 6am to take Lucas for a walk. When Mila and I joined him an hour later for breakfast, he told us that Linda, our au-pair, came home at 6am. This is unusual as Linda often comes home around midnight after working in a pub nearby but last night, she was out partying. Mila's reaction made me laugh....

Mila: "Oh WOW, she worked ALL Night!!"
Aren't kids just great to look at the world with a positive attitude and think the best of everything and everyone... :-)


This is what François and I worked on last weekend.The second picture which shows the beautiful Rob Ryan plates better is likely to be on the back cover of our catalogue...

Which image do you prefer?

After the launch of our first and now award-winning catalogue (yeah I know I keep repeating myself but I'm very happy and proud!), we got a lot of positive feedback on this photo of my lounge, which also made us realised that not everyone knew how to replicate the look...
So in our Summer catalogue, we've added a few styling tips throughout the catalogue to show you how you can achieve a similar look in your own home. It's dead easy and inexpensive.

We've also re-shot two versions of my moodboard with the Rabbit lamp (which never quite made it to Mila's bedroom) and this Do What You Think is Right print which is seriously becoming my mantra.

Since you were SUPER helpful last time, I would love to know which one you prefer.

I thought a close-up (pic 3) would be visually stronger but once we dropped each image into a (very rough) mock-up, we all felt in the office that the first two images fitted better the layout of the page and then it is a choice between image 1 and image 2.
