In love with buntings & garlands

Last Sunday, Steve & had all the happy campers around (kids and grown ups = 18 people +2 dogs) to have one last BBQ together before our friends Emma & Richard are heading to Hong-Kong. 
Since we added these gorgeous pom poms, I have developed a bit of a crush for anything that helps me to add a WOW factor to a kids party or garden party in no time and I had great plans to decorate our garden but the British Summer being what it is this year, we ended up having an indoor BBQ - which was fun but really noisy.
Part of my plan, was to decorate the garden with these lovely white pom poms and this Bibi bunting which I had got for Mila's Birthday last year because they suited the style of our garden but I really love this crochet bunting.
Mostly because I can't do crochet to save my life but also because I really love how sweet and retro it looks

Happy Thursday...

What a week it has been...our Spring Summer catalogue was mailed to our customers last Thursday in the UK and has kept us very busy. We even had an order from a postman who ordered the Rob Ryan plates after seeing them on the back cover of our catalogue he was putting in people's mail boxes. How cool is that!?
I'm really glad because I can't begin to tell you how much work this has been...but it was worth it! The response has been amazing and I really thank Vosges Paris, French By Design and The Lifestyle Editor for their wonderful write-ups.
I'm also over the moon that so many of you loved the shot I styled for our linen collection. I dreamt about this shot a long time ago and it came out exactly as I wanted it to be which was not a given since it was the first time I did something like this.
The large size of the blue linen duvet cover  and vintage pink duvet cover are now out of stock (hopefully back soon) and I will aim to style the soft grey duvet cover over the next few days to show you how gorgeous it is.
In the meantime, here is a quick update on products availability....
Our gorgeous pom poms and fluro confetti garlands are all back in stock, we have only 2 rabbit lamps left but more will arrive at the beginning of June, the Typed Love print is back in stock in the smaller size and we have a new gorgeous Un Dimanche a Paris kitchen towel in stock. Have a great day

Mila's 7th Birthday party

This year, Mila didn't want a themed Birthday party like last year's Moustache party last so we went for a white & soft pink colour scheme. It was a gorgeous day!

Food: pink lemonade, pink cupcakes, strawberry/raspberry fruit salad, white & pink marshmallows with little pink flags Mila and I made with Japanese masking tapes and the 'famous' chocolate cake which, I admit was the only homemade thing this time
Party bags: Hello Kitty toothpaste, Bear Yo Yo, glittering glu stick and a pink pom pom
Deco: Striped straws bought in New-Zealand last year but Milk & Paper has some nice ones,   a pink entrance door (just kidding, we painted our door Bubble pink before Christmas!), pink & white balloons

Next time, if I have more time, I will...

- use these gorgeous pom poms (this set was out of stock but is back in stock tomorrow) and this lovely fluro garland

- try to make these gorgeous heart-shaped marshmallows like these,

- make pink popcorn like this

Happy pom pom!!

SUN, S.U.N., SUUUUNNNNN 
I have to spelt it out because in London, we've been searching for it for a good 8 weeks and now it's back and I loooooove it! 
Let's hope it's gonna stay as beautiful until the weekend because on Sunday, we will have 8 gorgeous little girls celebrating Mila's Birthday at home.
So the minx does not want a theme this year, so no moustache party for us or anything else for that matter but I'm hoping to have some kind of lovely white and pink decoration on the table and in the room. 
I've already ordered pink & white Marshmallows and pink lemonade from Ocado and just need to sort out the party bags...(Just! Honestly, who invented party bags?? When I was young, it was the birthday girl that was receiving presents not the guests...anyway...)
Did you see these gorgeous pom poms we posted on our Facebook page this morning? 
I think I'm gonna use the Aubergine/Pink/Peach pom pom set to decorate the room and stick some pale ballons on the wall with washi tapes.
Right, that's it for me, I'm off to the book launch of Sweet Paris: A Love Affair with Parisian Chocolate, Pastries and Desserts in Notting Hill. The book was photographed and written by Michael Paul who shot our home last weekend and the one in France and by the same publisher of the Donna Hay one so I will have a little competition for you again at the end of the week!

Pigmée - handmade & loved ♥ ♥ ♥

It took me longer than usual to write the copy about the Pigmée collection because I really wanted you to get a feel of what I had seen in this wonderful, handmade collection for children.

So I tried to remember how I felt the first time I came across Pigmée in Paris (besides butterflies, which is usually a sign for me that I need to follow my guts feelings and go for it)....
"The first time I saw Pigmée, I knew I was in front of something very special. There it was... standing in front me, beautifully made in textured cotton. With no back or front, with nothing imposed on him, in all its simplicity, it laid down its soul and its story to tell and I knew it was the kind of thing we all want for our children. Handmade in a beautiful textured cotton, Pigmée is a desire to rediscover the authentic pleasure of simplicity and beauty found in handmade things like old toys were. Sadly, we did not have the time to include them in our catalogue but I really hope you will love this wonderful collection (the gardland is beautiful!) and I'm hoping I'll be able to bring you more little treasures like this in the future.

Mila's Moustache party

This year, Mila celebrated Halloween in France wearing the Batgirl costume I had put in her suitcase amongst other things. So I don't have photos to share but I realized that I never posted the photos of her Moustache Birthay party! Initially it was supposed to be an Ugly Betty party but it turned out that she was the only little girl to watch Ugly Betty with her mum and none of her friends knew who Betty was so we settled for a Mr Mustache one.

We put some smarties in little paper boats, some pretty straws in the Owl Vase, a lovely Rob Ryan bunting and lots of white balloons in our lounge. I made some delicious chocolate brownies, the girls played games, danced, jumped on my sofa, sometimes the moustache fell off but everybody had a great time!

Cette année, Mila a fêté Halloween en France déguisée en Batgirl, le costume que j'avais glissé dans sa valise parmi d'autres petites choses. Et du coup, je n'ai pas de photos mais je me suis rappelée que je ne vous avais pas montré les photos de son anniversaire Moustache! Au départ, cela devait être une birthday party a la Ugly Betty mais il s'est avéré qu'elle était la seule petite fille a regarder Ugly Betty avec sa maman et que ses copines n'en avaient jamais entendu parlé donc on s'est rabattu sur une fête déguisée en Mr Moustache.

Nous avons mis des smarties dans des petits bateaux en papier, de jolies pailles dans le vase hibou, une guirlande de Rob Ryan et pleins de ballons blancs dans le salon. J'avais fait des delicieux brownies au chocolat, les filles ont jouées, dansées, sautées sur mon canap', parfois la moustache tombait mais tout le monde s'est bien amusé!
